If you have ever embarrassed yourself at work, spare a thought for the make-up artist who literally tried to pull off Adrien Brody’s nose during filming for his new movie, The Brutalist. “They did apply a lot of [prosthetics],” Adrien began. “They had to do a prosthetic procedure. It’s funny; everyone’s very busy, it’s a movie with a lot of moving pieces, and so I had a new team of people who I had never met.” “She’s just working away, and I said, ‘Are you trying to remove that?’” Adrien recalled, pointing at his nose. “And she said: ‘Yes,’ and I said: ‘That doesn’t come off.’” The Brutalist is up for ten awards at this year’s Oscars, with Adrien in the running for the coveted Best Actor accolade, nose and all. It’s worth noting that Adrien, now 51, is actually the current record-holder for the youngest man to win the Best Actor Academy Award for his performance in The Pianist back in 2002, when he was just 29 years old.
