Sadly, it’s time for Padma Lakshmi to pack up her personal knives and go.
The longtime host of High Chef introduced on Thursday that she’ll be leaving the hit Bravo cooking present after 17 years.
“After a lot soul looking, I’ve made the troublesome resolution to depart High Chef,” Padma wrote in an announcement on Twitter.
Since 2006, Padma has anchored 19 seasons of the Emmy-winning cooking competitors sequence that spawned quite a few spin-offs and made stars out of Padma and her longtime cohosts Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons.
“Having accomplished a wonderful twentieth season as host and govt producer, I’m extraordinarily proud to have been a part of constructing such a profitable present and of the influence it has had within the worlds of tv and meals,” she continued in her assertion.
Don’t fear, Padma stans. She’s not leaving our TV screens. Along with her High Chef duties, Padma has additionally hosted a journey cooking docuseries, Style the Nation, on Hulu. Padma mentioned in her goodbye assertion she plans to proceed with the present, in addition to her books and “different inventive pursuits.”
“I’m deeply grateful to all of you for thus a few years of affection and assist. Sincerely, Padma,” she ended her assertion.
Fortunately, High Chef isn’t ending alongside Padma’s departure. Final month, Bravo introduced the sequence will return for Season 21.
That’s about all the knowledge we have now for the time being. It’s unclear if Tom and Gail will proceed and even tackle major internet hosting duties themselves.
