Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor clarified what “living separately” means to them.
Back in May, Sarah discussed how the couple of nine years don’t share a place together — and have no intention to anytime soon. “We’ve been together for a long time now, and I think part of it has to do with (that) we’re together when we want to be and we’re not when we don’t,” she explained on an episode of SmartLess.
At Sunday’s Emmys, where Holland was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in The Morning Show, the couple was asked by Entertainment Tonight about their living arrangement. Sarah replied, “I have to clarify this. We don’t live together, meaning we don’t own a home together, but we’re together more often than we are not.”
The 49-year-old continued, “It’s like we live together, but we don’t live together. I think [people] thought we saw each other, like, once a month or something. It’s not like that.”
“In one home or the other, back and forth. A lot of variety. Variety is the spice [of life],” Holland echoed.
In an E! interview, Sarah said of the night, “Holland has been my absolute rock and has been with me in all of these things for many years and tonight I’m the girl that gets to hold her purse.”
Alas, Holland ended up losing the Emmy to Elizabeth Debicki for The Crown, but I’m sure she’ll be happy with her existing Emmy at home.
